Remember to take notes
– you will meet a lot of new people and remembering everything they said is impossible.
You’re not a secretary (or maybe you are) but taking a few notes during speed dating isn’t the worse idea in the world. You could potentially have up to 20 dates at one of our events and keeping a track of everyone can be difficult. We provide you with a little form for you to add your date’s names to and a tick or cross box next to each name but you might want to be a bit more thorough than that.
Jotting down a few key words or things that stand out (positive or negative) can help you make some decisions. As the dates are in quick succession you might not have time to draw your final conclusion on a date there and then before your next date sits down. Making a few bullet points to consider later can be helpful.
However, we would advise you to be subtle about it. Don’t have your pen poised when they sit down and spend the entire 3 minute date taking notes and not engaging with the person opposite you. Remember, they are forming an impression of you too so give them your time and attention.
If you have never been speed dating before and have any questions about how to speed date, the format of the night and what to expect, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07731 700 770.
